Apple never discloses the battery capacity of its watches at presentations, but the databases of certification authorities fill this gap. The novelties of 2022 were no exception: the MySmartPrice edition found the characteristics of the Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra in the Chinese 3C database.
In the Series 8 model, the battery capacity has slightly decreased by 41 mm – 282 mAh versus 284 mAh in the previous generation. This should not have a strong impact on autonomy. The older version at 45 mm retained the capacity of 308 mAh, as in the Series 7.
But the Ultra has a much more capacious battery: 542 mAh. This is the largest battery in an Apple Watch – 76% larger than the Series 8 (45mm). It is not surprising that Apple at the presentation spoke about the increased autonomy: up to 36 hours in normal mode and up to 60 hours in energy-saving mode.
The documentation also confirmed that the processor specifications of the Apple S8 are identical to the S7 and S6. In other words, for the third year now, Apple Watch has not become more powerful, but it has acquired new features and sensors.
