Are you look­ing for bed­ding that is durable, pleas­ant to the touch, com­fort­able and skin-friend­ly? Choose prod­ucts made from nat­ur­al mate­ri­als. There are many mod­els of bed linen on the mar­ket, made only from nat­ur­al mate­ri­als: cot­ton, wool, silk or linen. The only excep­tion to this rule is microfiber, which, although not a nat­ur­al mate­r­i­al, does the job just as well as immor­tal cot­ton. The stores offer a large selec­tion of fab­rics for sewing bed linen. It is pos­si­ble to buy cot­ton fab­ric whole­sale.

The type of fab­ric used is of great impor­tance. Depend­ing on which fab­ric we choose, we can expect dif­fer­ent tac­tile sen­sa­tions: ther­mal com­fort, cozi­ness or soft­ness. But the dif­fer­ences don’t end with touch. If you choose an iden­ti­cal pat­tern in the same col­or, you can expect a dif­fer­ent effect on silk than on cot­ton. Of course, there are price dif­fer­ences as well. The price range is huge — from bud­get flan­nel, mid-range cot­ton to expen­sive and lux­u­ri­ous cash­mere.

Bed linen made of natural fabric

Bed linen made from nat­ur­al fab­rics is rec­om­mend­ed for peo­ple with sen­si­tive and irri­ta­ble skin. Due to its air per­me­abil­i­ty, bac­te­ria do not have a suit­able envi­ron­ment for growth. In the case of syn­thet­ic fab­rics, the oppo­site is true — a humid, warm envi­ron­ment and lim­it­ed air sup­ply cre­ate ide­al con­di­tions for bac­te­r­i­al growth and increased sweat­ing.

Cotton bedding

Cot­ton fab­rics have many advan­tages: they per­fect­ly wick away mois­ture, allow the skin to breathe, are pleas­ant to the touch, guar­an­tee high ther­mal com­fort and are easy to care for. Their only draw­back is that they are prone to wrin­kling, but against the back­ground of so many advan­tages, this small flaw seems almost imper­cep­ti­ble.

Wool linen

Woolen bed linen belongs to the lux­u­ry seg­ment. On the one hand, it guar­an­tees max­i­mum ther­mal com­fort in win­ter, on the oth­er hand, it can also be used in sum­mer (thanks to good ven­ti­la­tion). Wool adapts very well to body tem­per­a­ture and is espe­cial­ly rec­om­mend­ed for peo­ple suf­fer­ing from rheuma­tism and arthri­tis.

Silk bedding

Cool to the touch, breath­able and dust-free, silk bed­ding is ide­al for aller­gy suf­fer­ers and the elder­ly. Stud­ies have shown that silk soothes the skin, soft­ens the ner­vous sys­tem and slows down the aging process.

Linen

Airy linen insu­lates well from the cold, has anti­sta­t­ic and anti-aller­gic prop­er­ties and tol­er­ates wash­ing at high tem­per­a­tures. Its only draw­backs are the ten­den­cy to wrin­kle and the inabil­i­ty to iron.

Jacquard bedding — royal luxury

The dense, unique weav­ing of the threads gives roy­al sophis­ti­ca­tion to the jacquard fab­ric. As a result of this weav­ing, a mate­r­i­al is cre­at­ed that resem­bles a tapes­try with a tex­tured orna­men­tal relief.
The fab­ric, although it has a high den­si­ty, is unusu­al­ly light and breath­able. Typ­i­cal­ly, the com­po­si­tion of this fab­ric con­tains cot­ton, which pro­vides hygro­scop­ic prop­er­ties. The pro­duc­tion process of jacquard is labor-inten­sive, hence the increased cost com­pared to sim­ple fab­rics.

Advantages of jacquard

Bed linen sets made of roy­al fab­ric will be appre­ci­at­ed by adher­ents of com­fort and pleas­ant sen­sa­tions. In addi­tion to all this, jacquard has a num­ber of indis­putable advan­tages:

— hypoal­ler­genic­i­ty and safe­ty;
— high hygro­scop­ic­i­ty and resis­tance to shrink­age;
— spe­cial pleas­ant tac­til­i­ty;
- preser­va­tion of the bright­ness of col­ors and appear­ance for long-term use;
— sim­plic­i­ty and ease of care;
— resis­tance to tem­per­a­ture and crush­ing.

An inter­est­ing fea­ture of this fab­ric is that the relief is cre­at­ed by a spe­cif­ic mul­ti­ple weave of fibers. Bed linen made of jacquard fab­ric does not elec­tri­fy, does not deform after wash­ing, and almost does not require iron­ing. Basi­cal­ly, tak­ing care of clothes is easy.

What is jacquard fabric

In today’s real­i­ties, when cre­at­ing jacquard, not only nat­ur­al com­po­nents are used, but also arti­fi­cial com­po­nents. The com­po­si­tion of jacquard fibers can be:
- nat­ur­al — from nat­ur­al, gen­er­al­ly from cot­ton threads;
- arti­fi­cial — fibers made of poly­mers;
- mixed — mix­ing non-woven fibers and nat­ur­al fibers in a cer­tain way. The col­or­ing of the jacquard fab­ric is car­ried out by dif­fer­ent meth­ods: dye­ing before weav­ing, pre­lim­i­nary and the use of ther­mal print­ing on an already pre­pared fab­ric.

History of jacquard or royal fabric

Jacquard has almost two cen­turies of his­to­ry of its appear­ance. The cre­ator of the fab­ric that received his name is the inven­tor of the loom from France, Joseph Marie Jacquard. A hered­i­tary weaver made this extra­or­di­nary can­vas an afford­able lux­u­ry. The mech­a­niza­tion of weav­ing made it pos­si­ble to cre­ate a base for the indus­tri­al pro­duc­tion of mate­ri­als. Jacquard does not lose its huge pop­u­lar­i­ty in our age of high tech­nol­o­gy.
The pecu­liar­i­ty of jacquard, which in fact is not a fab­ric as such, is in a spe­cif­ic, spe­cif­ic way of weav­ing threads. The type of weav­ing can be sim­ple or com­plex, the threads are addi­tion­al­ly twist­ed. The den­si­ty index of the fab­ric depends on the thick­ness of the fibers and the den­si­ty of the con­nec­tion. The result is a pat­terned, beau­ti­ful, tex­tured can­vas.
Now the pro­duc­tion of jacquard is auto­mat­ed, weav­ing tech­nolo­gies are con­stant­ly being improved, but all the clas­sic meth­ods of obtain­ing fab­ric have not changed much.
