Secret codes of the Android operating system

Not so long ago we talked about secret menu «For Developers», which allows you to reveal additional features of the Android system. But the hidden possibilities are not limited to this menu. Your smartphone knows many secret codes that were previously intended for service center employees.

Codes must be entered in the standard phone application, where you indicate the number when calling. The activation of the code occurs automatically when it is completed.

Please note that some of the codes below are not suitable for all smartphones and not for all versions of the operating system. Also, some codes may pose a threat to the data on the device. So use them carefully.

Information codes

• *#06# — shows IMEI, a unique mobile device identifier. The IMEI can come in handy if you are trying to send a smartphone or mobile phone using a courier service. For example, “Nova Poshta” indicates the IMEI of the device in the declaration.
• *#0*# — information menu (does not work on all devices).

Other codes

• *#7780# — (carefully!) reset to factory settings. All third party applications will be removed.
• *2767*3855# — (carefully!) full reset to factory state. Removes third-party applications and files on the device. The function can be useful if you want to clean your smartphone before selling it. Otherwise, do not enter this code.
• *#*#7594#*#* — power off the smartphone.
• *#*#8351#*#* — enable the voice dialing registration mode.
• #*#8350#*#* — turn off the voice dialing registration mode.
