Well, we will traditionally start the review with …

Unboxing

Tronsmart Element Force + is offered in a solid cardboard box, made in the company’s minimalist corporate style: gloss is combined with matte, white with purple. Inside, under a magnetized hinged cover, the column itself is hidden, packed in an antistatic bag.

Next to it is a box with the accompanying “wealth”: a warranty card with instructions, a USB Type-C charging cable, an AUX cable, and a carrying cord that has become familiar from the past Force Mini. And already in the review there, we noted that it was the lace that looked the strangest: with a more than decent appearance of the column itself, this “carry” could have been richer.

From unboxing to…

Appearance

The design of the Element Force+ has a lot in common with the same Force Mini: chopped straight lines, a protective frame in front and behind, bolted, on the side there is a bracket for fasteners. At the bottom of the speaker are four rubber feet, thanks to which the speaker is very stable on the surface and does not “crawl” even at high volume.

At the top there are 6 buttons and three indicator lights. Traditionally, the buttons have much more purposes than the buttons themselves:

  1. The power button, in addition to the main functionality, allows you to turn the built-in microphone on or off.
  2. The EQ (equalizer) button allows you to switch between three preset modes: Extra Bass (standard, no indicator light), 3D Music (green indicator) and Standard (oddly, not the default setting and white indicator).
  3. M — select the sound source: from the phone via Bluetooth, from the AUX source or from the installed memory card. Pressing the button for 5 seconds will reset all settings to factory settings, and pressing it for 3 seconds will turn off Bluetooth.
  4. Pause / Play: In addition to the obvious music control, this button answers an incoming call, and pressing for 2 seconds rejects the call. Double-clicking on the button will automatically dial the last dialed number, and pressing it for 2 seconds will call the voice assistant from the phone (if supported by the smartphone).
  5. — either reduces the volume, or (by clamping) switches the track to the previous one.
  6. +, in turn, will increase the volume, and by clamping, respectively, turn on the next track.

The NFS icon will clearly show where to “attach” for a quick connection to the column.

On the back side there is a familiar thick rubber plug that hides the charging connector, 3.5 mm AUX jack and a slot for a memory card.

The body as a whole is made of the already familiar rubberized plastic. Which, on the one hand, perfectly holds even in a wet hand, and on the other hand, it perfectly collects dirt and dust. However, on the third side, it is also perfectly cleared of them later.

It would even be difficult to find fault with the assembly of the column as a whole: it has no moving external elements, which means there is nowhere to have possible backlashes and squeaks, water resistance and work in water were tested at home: the subject was drowned in a basin, which was not very upset , continuing to splash and thump bass.

However, of course, you should not hope for 100% protection: moisture protection is good, it is also protected from dust, rubberized plastic — but crooked hands and a rather hard stone (asphalt, concrete, paving stones, etc. — underline as necessary) will be left on the case at least scratches.

Considered — include:

Sound and performance, TWS mode

Here, too, a comparison with the same square Force Mini will be relevant: according to the characteristics, the “baby” operates in the frequency range from 115 Hz to 15 kHz, which is noticeably different from the 80 Hz-18 kHz promised by the manufacturer for Element Force +. In simple words, a larger range allows you to reveal both low frequencies (bass will be deeper and softer) and high frequencies (louder, clearer). Of course, counting on perfect sound from a speaker for $50-60 is at least strange (and audiophiles can quickly throw not only slippers), but in its price range, taking into account all the characteristics and overall quality, it is more than worthy.

By the way, it is worth noting: if we consider the issue of copying by Chinese «designers-engineers» of someone else’s quality products to create their own … then yes, in China you can already find copies of Tronsmart wireless speakers — this can be considered a compliment.

Switching the equalizer between three modes revealed a pattern: 3D Music shows itself most vividly and juicy (green indicator), while Extra Bass (without a light indicator) feels “empty”. In turn, the «white» Standart flaunts somewhat even overstated bass. One could assume that we mixed up Standard and Extra Bass in the description — but no, the corresponding color binding is described in detail first of all in the official instructions.

And since we had two speakers from the same manufacturer in our hands at once, which both support the proprietary TWS (True Wireless Stereo) technology, then it would be a sin not to try it in action. We follow the instructions:

  • turn off Bluetooth on the phone so that when you turn on the speakers do not connect to it;
  • turn on both speakers and hold down the EQ button for 2 seconds — then after the beep, pairing proceeds automatically, a stable (not blinking) yellow diode on both devices is considered successful;
  • turn on Bluetooth on the phone and connect to Element Force + (an important point, since this particular column will be the “main” one. At least because the “baby” Force Mini simply does not have the mentioned EQ). If suddenly your pair of speakers is equipped with this button mutually, the “main” one will be the one on which the button was pressed. A blue LED on the main speaker and a non-blinking yellow LED on the secondary speaker are considered successful.

With subsequent pairing, both speakers will connect automatically, to disconnect, you need to hold the M button for 5-7 seconds — and repeat the pairing process with a new device.

In TWS mode, not only the sound will be shared: the pause and volume buttons do the same job on at least one speaker, at least on the other.

Separately, it is worth noting the nuance of the equalizer in TWS mode: to use it, you must first enable the corresponding mode (or rather, switch from the default Extra Bass), and only then connect the speakers to each other. In paired mode, switch, alas, will not work. Probably, the problem is exclusively at the “software” level, but who will update it?

By itself, the TWS mode in the form of a bunch of Element Force + and Force Mini showed pleasant results: stereo is noticeable on high-quality tracks (separation of streams into “right” and “left” sources), in other cases there is duplication of audio content from both sources. Correction: a large Element Force + at the same volume (and this is automatically set when pairing) is heard better and cleaner, the sound of the Mini is noticeable only when approaching.

Important: as noted in the previous review, the lack of sound synchronization with the phone can be considered a disadvantage: for maximum sound, you must first increase the sound just on the phone, and only then “twist” it on the speaker (speakers).

At volumes close to the maximum, the test subject began to “wheeze” — but given its rather impressive volume, it is unlikely that the speaker will be constantly used at the limit of its capabilities.

Pros and cons

Objectively, Element Force + has much more advantages than disadvantages. At least, as the relatively short test, thanks to which the review is written, can show.

Advantages

  • price
  • build quality and brand (the fact of Chinese fakes of Chinese products noted above)
  • waterproof and dustproof
  • sound purity
  • minimalist-sufficient design
  • rubberized «tenacious» body

Flaws

  • complete cord
  • possible error in the description of the equalizer modes, made by the manufacturer
  • lack of synchronization of the volume level with the phone
  • easily soiled (but easily wiped off) case

conclusions

The Tronsmart Element Force+ wireless speaker can be a great addition not only nearby, but also away from home: on a hike, in the country, at a picnic. She doesn’t offer any extras for her money (a flashlight, a power bank, a whistle, a laser pointer, or just a mega-cool design), but just does her job — and does it well. Our independent opinion and the decision of many other bloggers is quite clear: Element Force+ offers more than it really costs. BUT: beware of fakes.
