Review of the smartphone Turbo X Dream 4G from the portal Our

The apoth­e­o­sis is the recent­ly intro­duced device from Ener­giz­er, which looks more like a power­bank with a smart­phone built into it. For­tu­nate­ly, there is also a small group of gad­gets that com­bine good auton­o­my and attrac­tive appear­ance. With one of them, called Tur­bo X Dream 4G, we will meet today.

For starters, a lit­tle his­to­ry. The hero of our today’s review is a kind of reboot of a good 2014 mod­el, which was sim­ply called the Tur­bo X Dream, with­out 4G. 5 years have not been in vain, the 2019 mod­el has added a lit­tle thick­ness and acquired a whole range of pop­u­lar fea­tures, includ­ing a fin­ger­print sen­sor, a dual cam­era (both main and front), and sup­port for 4G net­works.

Appearance and screen

The appear­ance of the device is pret­ty, but the design is not deprived of prac­ti­cal­i­ty: the case is mat­te, so it is not inclined to acci­den­tal­ly scratch. The thick­ness of the edges is opti­mal for a com­fort­able grip, it is con­ve­nient to keep the phone close to the ear for a long time when talk­ing (and in the sub­way when read­ing / surf­ing the web, of course).

Tur­bo X Dream 4G is equipped with a dis­play in 5.45 inch­es on IPS-matrix. Such a diag­o­nal, com­bined with small side frames, allows you to fit a sol­id-sized pic­ture on the screen with­out turn­ing the gad­get into a “shov­el”. The aspect ratio is clas­sic, 16:9 (res­o­lu­tion 1440x720). The man­u­fac­tur­er did not exper­i­ment, like some brands that pro­duce dis­plays with aspect ratios of 16:10, 18:9 or even 21:9. Of course, they have their advan­tages, but they lack the main thing — ver­sa­til­i­ty, when you can work with any con­tent on the screen with equal suc­cess, here 16:9 reigns supreme. Con­trast indi­ca­tors and view­ing angles do not fail either: the image is not dis­tort­ed, no mat­ter from what posi­tion it is looked at.

Performance

The com­pu­ta­tion­al capa­bil­i­ties of the gad­get are due to SoC MTK MT6739, it includes 4 cores for a total load of ARM Cor­tex A53 with a fre­quen­cy of 1280 MHz, as well as a Pow­erVR GE8100 graph­ics adapter with sup­port for hard­ware video decod­ing. In addi­tion, the Wi-Fi mod­ule is locat­ed on the chip itself. The chipset and the Android 8.1 oper­at­ing sys­tem work con­fi­dent­ly in con­junc­tion, the per­for­mance is at a decent lev­el. So, the device does not “slow down” even when work­ing with pre­sen­ta­tions of hun­dreds of slides or when quick­ly switch­ing between sev­er­al resource-inten­sive appli­ca­tions. You can also play, for exam­ple, Asphalt. Syn­thet­ic tests also char­ac­ter­ize the graph­ics capa­bil­i­ties of the device in the best way, in 3D Mark Ice Storm Unlim­it­ed the device scores 4192 points.

cameras

Tur­bo X Dream 4G is equipped with 4 cam­eras — 2 of them with a res­o­lu­tion of 5 MP and 0.3 MP are respon­si­ble for frontal shoot­ing, the remain­ing two are part of the main mod­ule (13 MP and 0.3 MP). The 0.3 megapix­el cam­eras are respon­si­ble for the imple­men­ta­tion of the pop­u­lar “por­trait” shoot­ing mode, which gives a blurred back­ground to the object being shot. The cam­era app is user-friend­ly and has all the options you need, includ­ing expo­sure, shut­ter, and fil­ters. The pic­tures are quite high qual­i­ty — of course, you need nor­mal light­ing, there is a flash, but it is more suit­able for the role of a flash­light. Per­haps, it can seri­ous­ly help when shoot­ing only when pho­tograph­ing doc­u­ments in the dark.

Communications

The gad­get is equipped with the most pop­u­lar net­work access tech­nolo­gies — Wi-Fi is adja­cent to fast 4G. Cov­er­age of fourth gen­er­a­tion net­works is improv­ing every year, but in extreme cas­es there is always sup­port for old­er 3G and 2G. There is also sup­port for Blue­tooth 4.2, and a nav­i­ga­tion mod­ule through GPS and GLONASS satel­lite net­works will help you nav­i­gate the ter­rain.

autonomy

The bat­tery here is non-remov­able and has a decent capac­i­ty of 4000 mAh. By the eighth ver­sion, Android has learned to take care of bat­tery con­sump­tion, which is not hin­dered by the installed chipset, so 2 days with­out recharg­ing is a typ­i­cal sto­ry for the hero of our today’s review. Some­times even 2.5 — 3 days, if you don’t get too car­ried away with games. You can play them con­tin­u­ous­ly for 6 hours, and watch videos on Youtube — as much as 9 hours. Any USB port and a USB-micro-USB cable are suit­able for charg­ing, with a 2A charg­er, the process of charg­ing the bat­tery will take about an hour and a half.

In gen­er­al, we can say for sure that a long bat­tery life is not the only trump card of the Tur­bo X Dream 4G. It is pleas­ant to hold it in your hands, it has most of the mod­ern “chips”, and all of them work with­out the slight­est com­plaint. The mod­el is suit­able for any­one who cares about a mod­ern phone that is always with you and will nev­er let you down.
