The benefits of a kefir-based wash

After the dyeing procedure inside the hair, the partial or complete destruction of natural melanin molecules begins under the influence of an oxidizing agent. There are voids that are filled with artificial dye. The connection between the dye molecules is quite strong — for this reason, ordinary shampoo cannot wash them off.

Kefir mask, in turn, forms an acidic environment. As a result, the surface of the hair softens, the connections between artificial dyes weaken, and the pigment itself is quickly removed. Of course, one procedure for the complete withdrawal of the dye is not enough — several washes will be required.

Kefir wash is weaker than acid wash, but it is more useful and safe for hair health. Kefir contains many vitamins, minerals and lactic acid bacteria. Thanks to their activity in the head area, blood circulation increases, metabolic processes return to normal, the hair from the bulb to the end is strengthened.

Benefits of kefir wash:

  1. hypoallergenic, no irritation;
  2. benefit for weak, breaking hair;
  3. hair saturation with vitamins and microelements;
  4. no strong odor.

A kefir-based wash ensures even hair color along their entire length. Even expensive chemicals do not always promise such a result.

You can buy kefir at any nearby store for an affordable price. The preparation of the wash takes several minutes.

Disadvantages of kefir wash:

  1. heating up, kefir begins to drain on the face;
  2. you may need to repeat the procedure 4-5 times;
  3. if the hair is dyed with basma or henna, then the kefir wash will be useless.

Despite the shortcomings, kefir wash is in many ways better than professional decapitation (washing of artificial coloring pigment). In salons, chemical compounds are used that provide deep penetration into the hair structure and displace the coloring pigment. Most often, the procedure in salons has to be carried out more than 5 times, and the cost of one trip to the hairdresser can reach more than 10 dollars.

How to prepare kefir wash

It is advisable to choose not fresh kefir, but one whose expiration date is coming to an end. You can buy the product and keep it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days so that as much acid as possible forms in it to successfully remove the paint. The fat content of kefir should be maximum.

You can add to kefir:

  1. any vegetable oil;
  2. lemon juice;
  3. salt or soda.

Salt, soda will help to quickly destroy the integrity of the protective film formed by the coloring agent around the hair. This wash is optimal for hair dyed with tonic compositions or household paints. Too much soda or salt should not be added. Also, do not intensively rub the wash into the hair roots, so as not to lead to microtrauma and skin irritation.

By adding a small amount of cosmetic clay, you will achieve a thicker mask that will not spread over the face due to heat.

Attention! Do not use ingredients that you are allergic to.

The ingredients for preparing a fermented milk wash are simple and can be found in every home.

  1. Standard kefir wash. It consists only of kefir, preferably — the maximum fat content.
  2. Sour-milk wash with salt. In 1 liter of kefir, add 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil and 1 tbsp. l. salt. Salt should be finely ground, you can use both table and sea salt.
  3. Vodka mask. Add to 1 liter of kefir 3 tbsp. l. vodka and 2 tsp. baking soda. You do not need to add too much soda and vodka, otherwise the hair will become dry and brittle.
  4. Kefir wash with yolk. Mix 5 tbsp. l. kefir with yolk and 2-3 tsp. vegetable oil. This wash prevents dry hair.
  5. Wash with kefir and orange. Add 100 ml of vodka and 5 crushed aspirin tablets to 100 ml of kefir. This recipe is optimal for removing green pigment.
  6. Rinse with cognac and sesame oil. Slightly warm the kefir (but not much so that it does not curl), add 1 tbsp. l. cognac and 3 tbsp. l. oils. After you wash off the product, rinse the curls with a decoction of chamomile.
  7. Wash with kefir and dry wine. Mix 50 g of kefir and 50 g of wine, then heat the product in a water bath. Rub the composition into the surface of the scalp and leave for 2 hours. It is believed that after 7 procedures the paint will completely leave the hair.
  8. Kefir wash with peroxide and chamomile. You need 20 g of kefir, 2.5 tbsp. l. hydrogen peroxide, 3 tbsp. l. chamomile and 1.5 cups of boiling water. Pour boiling water over the flowers and wait 60 minutes until the solution is infused. Next, add peroxide and kefir. Mix the ingredients well and apply the wash over the entire length of the curl. The maximum holding time is 40 minutes.

Using the proposed recipes, you will not only wash off the paint from your hair, but also ensure the strength, health and beauty of curls.

Procedure:

To properly apply a home wash, you must perform the following steps:

  1. Apply to the hair the composition according to any of the above recipes.
  2. Comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb so that the wash is applied to your hair in an even layer.
  3. Put on a shower cap or wrap your head with plastic wrap, a bag, and on top with a warm towel. It is necessary to provide sufficient heat — so the effect of kefir on the condition of the hair will only increase.
  4. Leave the wash on the hair for 1 hour and as long as possible.
  5. Rinse the composition with warm running water, then rinse your hair again with shampoo.

If you feel that after washing your hair they continue to smell like kefir, prepare a solution of lemon or chamomile, then rinse your curls with it. Such a solution will not only displace the specific sour-milk smell, but also make the hair more shiny.

How long to keep the wash on the hair

Sour-milk wash can be kept on the hair from 1 to 8 hours. However, people argue that a couple of hours is enough — it is not advisable to keep kefir for a longer time.

You can repeat the kefir wash again on the same day, but you do not need to carry out the procedure more than 2 times a day.

It is enough to carry out the procedure no more than 1 time per week.
